RPG releases like Drakensang: The Dark Eye and Legend: Hand of God and releases for next generation and mobile platforms show dtp's way of expanding its portfolio.[2]

History[3]

In the beginning there was music... Thomas Baur, founder and President of dtp entertainment AG, gained his early media products marketing experience in the early 80's in the record industry. Many successful groups are grateful to him for their first recording sessions and their subsequent success.

In the middle 80's, Baur took over responsibility for the HÖRZU's recordings collection and restored the label to its former prestige.

In 1993, he set up the HÖRZU software, closely followed by the creation of the Forbes software range for the Burda Group.

Since Thomas Baur set up DTP Neuen Medien GmbH, he started to concentrate on software development, marketing and distribution. With the setting up of DTP Neuen Medien, he took over the HÖRZU software label, building it up in just a few years to a strong brand. Further notable software ranges followed. In 1996 software marketed under the Capital magazine label, in 1998, a Focus range was started, and 1999 saw the start of the shoebox games label.

The foundations for today's success were laid in 2002 with the setting up of dtp entertainment AG. Since then, dtp has become market leader in the children's horse games sector and the adventure sector of the German software business. The company is expanding very fast and has become one of the most important German publishers.

The story of dtp's success is continuing. In 2004, dtp was voted "Best Publisher" by the international adventure games magazine The Inventory. In 2005, the company published the most successful adventure of the year in Germany, Austria and Switzerland - Nibiru: Age of Secrets (USA title). The official game of German telenovela Verliebt in Berlin was the best selling adventure in 2005's hot Christmas business. In the children's games sector, dtp secured the first three ranks in the charts for several weeks. With Meine Tierpension (My Pet Hotel) for GBA dtp published the most successful 3rd party product on the GBA, with Meine Tierpension (My Pet Hotel) for PC - the best selling children's game in the entire children's games business of 2005.

In late 2005, dtp's staff finally got too big for the old offices and the company moved towards the center of Hamburg.

dtp has now become market leader in both the adventure genre and the children's games genre. In early 2006, Thomas Baur founded the subsidiary company dtp young entertainment to publish the children's games in the future.

2006 has been marked by expansion - dtp entertainment counted more than 50 employees. The company's internationalisation has been on the top of the agenda, with new partnerships in key territories like Russia and Europe. The ANACONDA brand has been expanded to an international label for premium games. The portfolio has grown further with the signing of contracts for epic RPGs like Drakensang and Legend.

Today, dtp is one of the leading software publishers in Germany, Austria and Switzerland, employing more than 85 people in it's Hamburg headquarters. dtp is publishing and licensing its games portfolio in all important territories over the world. dtp games are going to be published for next generation platforms as well.
